ABOUT SAGE

22 years of professional writing experience for businesses, individuals, and periodicals gave me the experience and time to develop a very extensive and well rounded skill set. These skills includes varied writing styles, precise editing, developing and implementing unique and effective training programs, and the ability to present material in a user friendly and pleasing visual layout.

I acquired a BA in Art with an emphasis in education from Cal State Long Beach and then went to San Francisco State for my MFA in Writing. I have previously owed or co-owned businesses in small press publishing, career consulting, personal and creative coaching, and event organizing. Yes, I have always had at least a couple jobs or businesses going at a time. I do not like to be idle. Others simply call it workaholism.

I started in publishing in high school when I helped produce the school's literary magazine. As an undergraduate, I started my personal publishing journey when I co-founded Black Tape Press which published 2 periodicals and a half dozen literary collections during it's three year existence. I have kept myself involved in publishing on some level every since including
"Wake", my own collection of prose and verse , the co-authoring and/or ghost writing of several non-fiction books, and developing the Opus Arts Festival, an annual gather for aspiring writers, artists and other creatives to learn from professionals about how to improve and sell their work.

Presently I am in the process of establishing publication concepts to include a magazine (filling a gap in professional level polymer and art clay periodicals) and a  non-fiction short book publication concept under my company, Tenth Muse LLC. I will post news of the nonfiction publications on my Twitter page "A Sage In Real Life" and the magazine on my art website (www.thesagearts.com) and Facebook page 'The Sage Arts". Come join me on any of these sites!
